Field Trip Reservation
Information The Teacher Packet has all
the information a teacher needs to get his or her
students prepared for their field trip. To reserve
your school's field trip, you must call for available
dates or fill out and email the inquiry form found
on the Contact Page. Once an available date is agreed
upon, TWC will hold it for three business days,
which will give the teacher time to fill out and
fax the Trip Schedule on page 1 of the Teacher Packet.
Once the Trip Schedule has been received, TWC will
fax a Confirmation to the Authorized Trip Scheduler
listed on the form. A field trip date is NOTconfirmed for your school until
a Trip Schedule is faxed to TWC and the confirmation
fax is received by the school. Fill out one Trip
Schedule for each date desired. Note:
Do not fill out a desired date and fax the Trip
Schedule without making an inquiry to check for
the date(s) availability.

Behold the Beauty All grade levels also include a Conservation and Appreciation
component with topics and activities about saving landscapes,
how plants and animals are affected by loss of habitat,
and enjoying natures beauty wherever one may be.
Pictured above left are two students building with materials
nature has provided. Above right depicts a girl framing
a nature scene she believes is beautiful.
Third Grade Program
Students come to appreciate the earth's place in the solar
system, with activities that include the earth's position
and rotation; how we get time, days, and seasons. The importance
of the sun is explored with demonstrations and activities
of color separation from light and how light is converted
to heat. Other activities include adaptations in animals,
micro habitats, pond explorations, and interpretation of
daily discoveries. Fourth Grade Program
Students will be able to distinguish between producers and
consumers, and the reasons animals adapt, through a variety
of activities that include Food Pyramids, Web of Life, Who
Am I?, and Bird Beak Adaptations. Changes in the Land focuses
on activities relating to the rock cycle, classification,
mineralogy, and man's impact by following an unnatural trail.
Fifth Grade Program
Students focus on our source of local water for quantity
and quality, how the water cycle works, our earth as the
ultimate filter and the use of scientific equipment for
pond assessments. Plant adaptations are realized through
experiments, activities, seed dispersal, dichotomous keying,
and tree ring studies. Sixth Grade Program - Available for Limited
Dates-see below
Students learn how the earth is constantly changing from
the past, to the present, and into the future with folding,
faulting, volcanism, plate tectonics, erosion, weathering,
plant intrusions, and impact by humans through activities
and experiments. Other topics and seasonal activities include
insect investigations, sharpening observations skills with
a natural evidence trail, the use of divining rods to locate
water, and using a MOHS hardness scale to determine what
rocks and minerals are present. This program is for elementary
schools only, available for limited dates in December and
January.
